In the video of the user Gabriela Tolosa published in our Facebook page, we can see the snow falling on the road on the way from Antofagasta de la Sierra to Belén in Catamarca, Argentina. Near the end of the video, along with the snowfall a lightning is observed (in the end we repeat it in slow motion).When lightning ocurrs within a snowstorm, it´s called a thundersnow. It´s an unusual phenomenon and difficult to record since the snow does not have associated deep convection like rainstorms, and the low temperature creates difficult conditions for the necessary friction for the electrical activity to form.
